Millions of people in Japan suffer from seasonal pollen allergies,
commonly referred to as “hay fever” accompanied by several
symptoms like sneezing, itchiness, a runny nose, and watering eyes
during periods each spring when the pollen of Japanese cedar
(Cryptomeria japonica) and Japanese cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa)
are suspended in the air.
